random ramblings

I’m getting lazier and lazier these days.. I’m even lazy to get online.. for the past couple of weeks I’ve just been watching tv non stop.. Law and Order reruns on USA, TNT, and Bravo channels kept me on the sofa

Went bridal gown shopping for the first time today…. alone ….
probably next time I should ask some girlfriends to go with me :p  Saw
at least 3 that I like.. and this is only the first bridal store.. hmmm
I probably will have a hard time deciding ..

yeah yeah we’re already married…   it was just a civil ceremony, so early next year when we go home, we’ll be married again in Holy Matrimony in Hendrik’s hometown of Muntilan :p  A reception will follow in Yogya.  We’re also going to have an earlier party in Bandung the previous weekend. Our parents said it will be the "engagement" party hahaha but we’re already married !! 

Our parents finalized these dates a few weeks ago soon after they picked our March 1st date – and they also have made down payments at both venues.  I’m gonna have lots of fun planning two wedding parties !  Well hopefully I’ll definitely have to use a wedding organizer(s) because I won’t be in Indonesia for the months leading up to THE DayS ! 

Other than having these dates.. I haven’t really started any planning yet… hmmm maybe I’ve been saving pictures of gowns, cakes, and bouquets.. hehe but that’s about it.  :p

My Mom’s way ahead of me. She has decided on her make up artist ! Hehehe she used his service a couple of weeks ago for a special occasion that I’m not really clear about, but she’s so satisfied with the result that she immediately decided that she’s going to use him for our wedding !  She even took Dad to get their picture taken because she liked it so much ;p

• make appointment with a Justice of the Peace for March 1st – DONE. Hendrik already called Judge Barbara Bembry who will marry us at 4pm on Thursday
• apply for marriage license at least 72 hours before the day/time – DONE. We went to the County Clerk office today around lunch time.  We only needed to bring our drivers licenses and $41 in cash. We filled a one page application form, and within 10 minutes we got our license ! It’s good for 30 days but there’s a 3 day waiting period 

• reserve Buca di Beppo for celebration dinner with NI Motion Control Group Wednesday night 2/28 6.30pm for 20 adults + 6 children – DONE
• reserve Sushi Sake for celebration dinner with friends Thursday night 3/1 6pm for 15 people – DONE

we didn’t even include any of my friends or old friends from
college.. and we already have 40 people..   I guess we could have a
real wedding reception if we want to .. but naaah … we had no time to prepare :p  and I don’t like doing anything
"setengah-setengah" ..  I’d rather have 1 nice & well organized
reception than 2 so-so ones…   actually in our case we already have 2
parties (Bandung + Yogyakarta)  planned for Indo.. so why should I
bother to do another one here ?  :p

• wedding cake -  honestly I wasn’t even thinking to get a cake considering how casual and informal our dinner is, but our friend Kathy offered to make us one.  Just now I chatted with her to discuss what we want. This is the inspiration cake .. and the flavor will be Dark Chocolate Rapsberry Truffle can’t wait to see how it turns out. it will be 2 tiered instead of 3 because we don’t have that many people to eat it :p

• wedding bands – we ordered a pair of wedding bands but it didn’t turn out good..  poor workmanship .. plus it really doesn’t look good with my engagement ring,  it’s also too wide for me, and hendrik’s ring is too big ( this one is his fault.. he didn’t know how to use the ring sizer)  so I’m going to return them for a refund.. if we have time this week I’ll drag Hendrik to one of the local jeweler..
