Arine asked me to take pictures of my new office.. so I googled and found these pictures… I think these will be better pictures than what I can take with my crappy 5 yr old digicam (I really need to get a new compact digicam…. maybe at the end of this summer)
What the buildings look like from the street, day and night, from different angles:

Basketball court on the 6th floor, and a picture of the lobby.

And a lot of pictures of the inside here: PhotoshopNews
my office looks exactly like the first office picture there, in which
the guy has a pirate flag and another flag saying "Don’t tread on me".

First day of work today. I was impressed with the orientation process. I thought they were very efficient. All of my accounts were already set up. I got my new laptop, LCD monitor, etc., filled out a bunch of paperwork (some electronics), even submitted my first expense report online for my relocation. From experience, I really knew how much a headache these things can be.
So far so good. Love my office
yes it’s actually an office, with a DOOR :p and a glass pane.. not the usual cubicle
It’s on the 12th floor!! There are 3 buildings in the campus and I’m on the newest one, the one with the fitness center. The equipments are typical what you can find in a fitness center, it’s open 24/7 for employees to use. hmm what else? Oh free bottled water, juices, milk, coffee, cocoa, tea, instant soups, fresh fruits, and candies :p And my office is just by the break area so I’m only a few steps away from those goodies. Oh the gourmet cafeteria is nice too!! lots of choices!
I hope the rest of this summer will stay nice like today!
ps. Get well soon, honey !! Hubby got really sick this weekend, i think from exhaustion of driving long distance, when he was still recovering from the flu last week… so now the flu is back and it’s stronger

I’m halfway through the MBA program!! yay!! and I’m moving to San Jose next weekend
, for my summer internship, 10 weeks !
The plan is to leave Austin Thursday night.. and we’re going to drive about 8 hours (600 miles) to El Paso… still in TEXAS
The state of TX is freakin huge! By the way, there’s nothing between Austin and El Paso.. literally nothing if you look at the map.. I’ve heard from people who’ve made this same trip before, that the drive between El Paso to Austin (or vice versa) is the ultimate boring drive… basically we’ll just be going straight for 500+ miles and nothing to see on the way… ugh.. i’m not looking forward to that. So we’ll spend the night there. I’ll try to get Hendrik to get off work early so we don’t get there too late.

Originally I want him to take Thursday off, but he said he has a lot of work to do these days.. and he’s been sick too.. I think it’s the flu.. multi symptoms..cough/cold/fever/headache/red eyes/runny nose.. hopefully he gets better soon!! I was sick for 2 weeks and now that I’m better, the virus moved on to Hendrik
Friday we’ll continue our journey and the goal is to reach Los Angeles.. yep, Texas all the way to California.. it’s 800 miles or about 12 hours of driving,.. since we’ll start early.. before noon, we should reach LA before midnight, and spend another night.

And finally Saturday we’ll finish the trip, only 350 miles left, so with one of two breaks, it would probably take us around 6 hours.

We’ll rest on Saturday.. enjoy Sunday and half of Monday with hubby.. he will fly back to Austin Monday afternoon :’( … Once again we’ll be a long distance couple hehe.. but honestly both of us feel indifferent about this.. after surviving 5 years of LDR.. 10-11 weeks is nothing !
