last week I lost my badge, my company ID card that is. I still couldn’t find it till this morning. I really should get a replacement soon.

The building I work at is pretty strict about showing our badges while entering the facility. Usually people either show it to the guard, or just scan it through and it would beep. The rule is if an employee doesn’t have his badge on, he/she will have to be escorted in.  I of course have forgotten my badge more than once or twice and everytime the guard always stopped me and I’d have to call my coworker to fetch me at the gate.  Such a hassle.

So anyways.. last Thursday I couldn’t find my badge. … But lunch time when I went out and passed through the scanner it beeped!  Hmmmm is bagde buried somwhere inside my handbag ???   I searched it but didn’t find it. Maybe it wasn’t me who beeped just now. There were other people passing at the same time.

So on the way back I tested it again.. I scanned my handbag through and it beeped again! Feli said well it must be inside… but it’s NOT!  In the evening I asked Patty and Jamie to search through my handbag… they took turn …inspecting every single junk inside.. but no badge !

Now I was sure something else in my bag must be beeping… or maybe it’s the bag itself?  It probably somehow got some magnetic field hehehe..  so i had a mission to find out what’s beeping… haha so I took out my wallet and scanned it through the scanner.. nothing.. my bag w/o my wallet still beeped.. hmm so at least I know it’s not any of my credit card that beeped..  because i don’t want the guard to suspect anything ( it would be a hassle if she finds out i don’t have a badge ) .. i couldn’t really stay in front of the scanner more than a few seconds.. so i had to perform my "testing what’s beeping"  several times.. in the morning, lunch time, and finally on the way home…

Ah ha ! it’s the new laundry room keyfob!   Just a couple months ago my apartment went hi-tech..changing  the key to the laundry room to a keyfob (just need to scan it to open the door)

but now where is my real badge ???????   I don’t know how much longer i can go in / out the building by scanning my ‘magical’ bag…

This week several people have asked me again when I’m getting married (including the ladyboss of the oriental market) ….. of course by now I’m already an expert in answering this question hahaha…  *sigh* these people..  what’s the rush ? 

Just now Arine suggested that I should start referring to Hendrik as my fiance instead of my boyfriend.. just to make it sound more serious.. to make it known that Yes I intend to marry this guy..   haha  She said over here if I use the title "boyfriend/girlfriend". it sounds the same as those used by 13-14 year olds…

So I looked up the definition of "fiance/fiancee" and "engagement"

An engagement is an agreement by a couple to enter into
marriage at some future time, usually accompanied by a formal or
informal announcement to friends and family.

Well yeaaah based on that definition, I think Hendrik qualifies to be called a fiance   hehe  I mean we’ve talked about marriage since …. hmmmmm years ago   But of course… we don’t have a date yet…  but if you read the definition again.. it says "some future time", right ?
