Back at my desk, log in to AA.com, check-in and print my boarding passes for my 8PM flight to Austin, through Chicago. Confused about what’s going on when I see the flight time is 6.59AM Friday morning.
4.25 PM
AA called my cellphone. My flight to Chicago had been cancelled. There’s an earlier flight that’s going to Chicago at 5.25PM. I was asked if I was anywhere near the airport. Well, I am an hour away from Indy and I still have to go home and pick up my bag first, that’s like a 20-30 minutes detour. I definitely I wouldn’t make it. Plus I had not even finished packing yet. I asked about other routes through Dallas or St Louis. They’re all either sold out or delayed for hours, I just wouldn’t make the connection to Austin. I had to go the next morning. But wait.. looks like the 5.25PM is now delayed until 6.15PM. Would I take it ? YES ! I quickly rushed to go home.
4.45 PM
Reached my apartment. Turn off my A/C, stuffed several things into my bag and left.
5 PM
It’s raining. Got to I-65, but I had a feeling like I wouldn’t make it. I estimated I would get to the terminal at 6PM because I would have to park my car in the long term parking first and then had to wait for the shuttle bus, etc. Would I get pass security ? I called Hendrik and asked him to check the flight status. Found out the 5.25PM flight is now further delayed till 6.55PM. Relieved. Now I don’t have to speed. I definitely will make it.
6 PM
Didn’t rain in Indy. Entered the terminal. Checked the screens. Flight still scheduled to take off at 6.55PM. I joined the line at the AA counter. There were about 10 people in front of me.
6.15PM
Finally my turn. The agent didn’t say anything to me but it took her so long. She kept typing which I couldn’t see and also made several calls. Finally she said the 6.55PM is also cancelled !!!! oh What A Horror !!! and she couldn’t find anything else that could get to Austin tonight. Had to go tomorow morning. She’s checked other airlines too and there’s absolutely nothing available. I saw the screeen and saw a lot of "CANCELLED" signs. Suddenly the terminal is crowded because the people inside who were already at the gates were now coming back out and back in line. I kinda feel lucky because I didn’t make it to the gate.
6.30PM
I asked how early tomorrow I could get to Austin. She said 9AM leaving Indy, and arriving in Austin at 3PM. Horrible schedule. That’s wasting almost a whole day travelling. I am supposed to work tomorrow. She said I could get out of Indy using the first flight out to Dallas at 7AM, but I would have to stand by in Dallas. I asked about leaving from Louisville (80 miles) or Cincinnati (90 miles). She found something, either way it’s gonna go through Atlanta and will get to Austin at 11.45 AM. I chose Louisville. Oh… luckily I remember to ask her to change my return too. Otherwise who’s gonna pick me up later if I go to Indy ? And my car will be left in Louisville airport.
6.45PM
Left the parking lot pissed 
because I had to pay $7.50 for less than an hour parking. It’s counted as one day. The attendant couldn’t give me a refund. She only gave me a piece of paper with a phone number to call. She even took my parking ticket. She said she had to for all the cars going out of the lot. How am I supposed to prove that I parked for less than an hour then ? Yeah right, Like I would go to all the troubles to get $7.50 back.
7.30PM
Suddenly it rained really hard on the way home. It wasn’t raining in Indy. At one point, it was raining so bad that I couldn’t see anything in front of my car so I had to stop for a few minutes. I guess the storms were just passing by.
8PM
Home sweet home again.
Midnight
Packing again. This time I include all the things I forgot the first time ( some movies, cellphone charger ). Emailed my boss and team informing them that I wouldn’t be working until the afternoon. Just in case somebody is wondering where I am.
12.30AM
Set my alarm clock to 5AM. Plan to leave at 5.30AM. My flight out of Louisville is at 7.25AM.

I’m so irritated 
everytime I had to deal with Customer Service of any kind. Well today I called my Citi Premier Pass Mastercard line returning their call. With this card I earn 1 Thank You point ( worth about 1 cent ) for every $dollar$ spent plus 1/3 of the miles I fly if I buy the ticket with this card. So typically a roundtrip ticket to Austin will earn me around 1000 points. 300 for the airfare itself, and 700 for 1/3 of the miles flown.
I bought my ticket home last September using this card. The ticket cost me over $1600. I was supposed to get the points about 1-2 month after I completed the travel. I came back here in early January and the trip distance was about 15000 miles. So I was expecting 1600 + 5000 = 7600 points from it. But I waited and waited. Until April I already received the points for my trip to Austin (late January) and Seattle (late February), but nothing for this trip to Indo.
I first sent a message using the service in the online account management. But I got the generic response "Please call 1-800-… " They even gave me the wrong number !! It was the number to redeem rewards using my points. I wasn’t asking about redeeming the points !!! Anyways I still called that number anyway and was transferred to the right office. But it was so hard explaining what I want. They kept telling me to wait longer or they also told me they just added some points for a flight I took in January… but that was for my trip to Austin! Finally they understood what I was asking for and told me to fax the original itinerary and boarding pass + receipt of that trip. Now who still keep a boarding pass of a flight they took over 4 months ago ???? I decided to just fax my frequent flier statement with JAL and AA instead, hoping they would take it. Those statements are also proofs that I took the flights right ? Anyway I really paid over $1600 using this card.. But No NO No, they wouldnt take that. They left me a voicemail asking for to call them back.. and that’s why I was returning their call this afternoon. Again I tried to argue that who in the world would still keep the boarding passes ?? 
They said I should request a copy from the airline..Aaargh is it even possible ? I don’t think they would issue a copy of boarding passes, would they ??
I wish I could be just "cuek" about this kind of thing. But I just can’t ! This is me… I care about this kind of thing hehe AAAARGH Ok I’m gonna let this one go… not worth any more of my time to pursue it…. mmm but I could actually get a $75 gift card (BanRep / GAP or others) with just the points from this one trip. 
On a different note… as of today May 1st, 2006 I am 100% vested in my Cash Balance Plan (Pension) 
huahaha. This means I’m now more than $10K (minus tax) richer than yesterday. It’s like I just got a bonus.. but I will not receive this money until I leave the company.. it will continue growing with interest meanwhile. This is "free money" from my company. From my first day of work, my company put 4% of the amount of my paycheck monthly into the account. The account grows with interest ( higher than bank interest… I think about 5% ) …btw this has nothing to do with the 401k / retirement account, which I had to contribute from my paycheck. This one is totally GIVEN by the company for free . But the catch is, if I leave the company before 4 years and 1 month (counted as 5 years of service), I have no right to the money at all. And today is that day for me. I’ve been working here 4 years and 1 month. This also means that starting this month the monthly deposit to this account will be bigger.. it will be 6% of my salary instead of 4% ..
oh btw forgot to blog about my weekend I had a great girls weekend with Jamie & Patty. Started Friday night with a worship concert of Reuben Morgan from Hillsong in Indy’s Lakeview church. It was a good concert. It’s nice to sing familiar songs. Well I didn’t know some of the songs, but still it was nice. We spent the night in Jamie’s friend’s house in Indy.. what a good location.. so closed to the malls heheehe.. we went window shopping at Castleton and Keystone malls .. Each of us got something but it wasn’t much .. oh we had lunch @ Dami a Korean-Japanese restaurant recommended by Magda hehe we’re not dissapointded it was good food ! Jamie and Patty ordered the special sushi rolls.. and I was the only one who ordered Korean food (Japchae), but I still got 10 side dishes with my entree hehehe We ended the day by grocery shopping at Saraga .. stocked up on instant noodles and canned drinks .. hehehe By the time we got in Columbus, our legs were pretty sore and we’re just sooo tired.
Sunday i slept late .. missed church 
cus I just woke up 15 mins before the Service starts.. no way I could get ready that quick .. so in the end I stayed inside the whole day doing nothing. To think that I should have gotten enough rest on Sunday.. but no.. it’s never enough.. I wish we have a 3 day weekend every week !
