random ramblings

It’s been a while since the last time I wrote here  :p A lot of things have happened… and on several different occasions I thought about blogging them .. I actually started writing bits and pieces but never got to posting them.. and after a while each of them just became stale news :p

Here’s what’s going on with me in bulletpoints :

• With my 25th bday fast approaching,I’ve been thinking a lot .. about where I want to be.. what I want to do next..the so-called Quarter Life Crisis I guess..   I feel so old .. yet I wondered why my car insurance premium is still so high.. :p hehe I just renewed my auto insurance.. thus the reference to it. Found out that my baby brother got his driver’s license. He’s driving around town by himself thesedays, something I am not brave enough to do. hehehe. I have to stop referring to him as my baby brother ;p I felt he’s still 9 years old.. his age when I left home for college !  Gosh… I’m really getting old.
• I won over a lot of money playing Bejeweled2 on games.msn.com. It’s no secret among my friends that I played bejeweled and other online games a lot.. hehehe.. *life in Columbus, Indiana*. I’m pretty good  at some of these games hehehe.. so earlier this year I started playing for $$Cash$$ .. A couple of weeks ago I won 1st place in the weekly online tournament. I’ve requested the withdrawal, the money will be transferred to my paypal account, but it will take a while. The last time I withdrew around $150, it took 5 weeks before I saw the money in my paypal. Hmm I think deducting all the money I spent playing plus the VIP membership, I still made around $400+ in profit this year
• I got really frustrated with the doctors here. Orthodontist and Oral Surgeon !!  Found out that the cost for my jaw surgery ( just surgeon cost, not including hospital stay )  would be enough to buy a brand new Honda Civic and my insurance won’t pay much because he’s out of the network. I need to find an in-network doctor.. Insurance will pay up to 80% for in-network.. so the difference is A LOT, but the closest one would be in Indy/Bloomington. That means i have to go there first for initial consultation again.. and will have to do the paperwork with insurance all over again… just delay ..  delay …and delay…   I’d always thought that by the time I go home this month I’d have my surgery done.. and I’ll be brace-free by summer next year… Reality is I still don’t even know which surgeon I’m gonna use !   First thing I have to bug my ortho to recommend me a new surgeon before I leave for my vacation !
• Thanksgiving break in Austin. Good times. This was the only time during the year where I got to spend more than just a long weekend with Hendrik.  I was there for a full weeek. Actually I was supposed to return Monday morning after thxgiving but I missed my flight back to Indiana by a few minutes because of the long lines in security checkpoint. They just closed the door when I reached my gate. So I stayed an extra night in Austin and returned the next afternoon.  Reached home Tuesday night around 9PM.  It was a complete waste of 2 workdays! Luckily my boss did not have any problem
• I’ve been reading all about Harry Potter Although I don’t read the books, but I’m reading spoilers, chapter synopsis, user reviews, and many little tidbits about it :p  It’s amazing how big the fandom of Harry Potter is.. It’s like a whole different universe and there are millions of real people actively participating in it…
• I’ve been addicted to youtube.com … I could browse the video clips for hours :p just like the first time I got to know friendster .. I found all sorts of things there…
• Got my first bonus as a blackbelt Kaching $$$ I don’t feel guilty with all the shopping I did in the past month

And lastly, I’m going home in less than 2 weeks. My diet is not going so well. Lost 2 lbs in a week. Gained 3 lbs the next week. Lost 4 lbs again. Gained 2 lbs again :’(  Looks like I’m not gonna impress anybody with any weightloss as planned hahahahah hmmm and everyone’s back home’s gonna see me in braces for the 1st time … Can’t wait to meet everyone !!
