Last weekend I watched my first ever Bollywood movie hehehe. I’ve watched Indian movies before, but none of them is Bollywood production. And they’re all in English : "Monsoon Wedding", "Bollywood/Hollywood", "Bend it Like Beckham" – does this count? :p,  "Bride and Prejudice",  and also "The Guru", a funny movie by the way.

So last week Mimi, Kas’ sister, lend me not just 1 but 4 real Hindi movies !! :p

Kabhikhushikabhigham_posterI decided to watch "Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham" because the DVD packagin is nice. :p  First impression ?  Wowwww what a lavish and extravagant lifestyle.  Just like in Indonesian’s sinetrons .. but this is tenfolds. The family in the movie live in a huge mansion. It’s huge from the outside, which looks like a castle, and more so in the inside. The characters drive Ferraris. The son of the family arrived at home with helicopter to attend a family event. There’s a socialite party in the movie that’s just wowww.

I thought India is a poor, third world country ? Are there really people living that kind of lives like in India ?

A few years ago when I watched Arisan!, I thought of the same thing. A lot of exagerration. Definitely did not portray an average life of people in Jakarta. But it’s nothing compared to this movie !

Anyway.. the movie was 3 hours long. I fast forwarded a lot of the dancing and singing parts :p  Overall the story was pretty good. I shed some tears :p .. but the settings are just not realistic :)

I started watching a new kdrama last weekend. It’s been a while since my last one. I finished 26 episodes in less than a week :D hehehehehe… this is this month’s Korean series of the month @ d-addicts.

Phoenix / Firebird / Boolsae
Bulsae

Love is timing. Love needs just the “right time”. It’s not because you
loved him or her less that you parted. Heaven brings you your soul mate
when the time is just “right”. “Phoenix” shows you this heaven’s work. There is a young couple who desperately fell in love but who couldn’t
be together because the time wasn’t just right for them. Years pass by
and these two meet again. And the trick of fortune switches their
situation and environments. A daughter of a millionaire has now become
a personal helper (maid) suffering from the grim realities of life. On the other hand,
an orphan self-supporting student is now an accomplished wealthy
businessman. Now these two people are looking at the world with
different eyes. The childlike girl has finally learned the harshness of
the world and the guy with once twisted mind has learned to enjoy the
latitude of mind. In the end, these two start to understand each other,
thus arriving at the “right time”.

My comments :
This was a very good series. Didn’t cry much :p I like the main actress, Lee Eun Joo. May she rest in piece. She committed suicide earlier this year. That time when I read the news I was just started to download and watch more kdramas and didn’t know who she was.

This weekend I ate, ate, and ate.   Kas & Shahreel invited us to their house to celebrate Idul Fitri or Hari Raya Lebaran.  They had an open house today.  They prepare a lot of food.

I feel like I have to go on a detox / cleansing diet or at least go vegetarian for a week :D   cus I ate so much this weekend.   Besides today, I also had dinner Friday night at their place, and again lunch on Saturday.

I just showed the pictures to Hendrik and he’s drooling at work (yes, he’s at work on a Sunday night .. somebody pls tell him to go home ! ) .. ..

I just discovered youtube.com today, and I had fun browsing the videos there. Where have I been this whole time ?  I thought I’m a true surf junkie  *kok baru nemu sekarang?*… and here’s a way to save the videos there.  I haven’t tested it but I’m sure it works…

Some that are worth sharing are :
1. Funny  :  2 Chinese Guys – I Want It That Way  – this is hillarious :D    and these guys made a few more videos from Backstreet Boys. As Long As You Love Me, Get Down,  and this is them again doing  chinese songs,

2. Cute : I don’t know whose daughter /sister this is, but she’s just cute.

3. Chinese MVs – hmmm now I know where to find video clips for Hendrik :D
Tong Hua – Guang Liang
Shou Qian Shou – a.k.a the SARS song
Wo Men De Ai – F.I.R , one of my fave songs of all time :D
Bu De Bu Ai – Wilber Pan & Xuan Zi – never heard this song before, but I thought it’s a nice one
Shuo Ai Ni – Jolin Cai,  this was once upon a time Hendrik’s fave song :)
Zhu Wo Sheng Ri Kuai Le – Landy Wen,  mmm I love this song.
Forever Love – LeeHom
?? – Gigi Leung,  found it just now.. dunno the title

4. Indo songs :  I just searched "indo" and found these
Pudar – Rosa, well this was the first time I heard this song.. hmm not bad..
So What Getu Loch ? – stupid song but funny hahaha.
Dangdut is the music of my Country – hehehhee
Seindah Biasa – Siti Nurhaliza – ok she’s not indonesian :p  hehe but she’s pretty, isn’t she ?

… ok that’s enough for today ..

hmmm I guess Google Video  is trying to offer the same service, but right now it doesn’t have as many videos as youtube.
